Welcome to instructor website for EN 102 Composition II - the second course in Marymount's first year composition program. Composition II builds on the skills introduced in Composition I. Whereas Composition I focused on writing and reading in the public sphere, Composition II turns to the Academy.
Composition II focuses on the reading, writing, critical thinking, and research skills students need to participate effectively in academic discussions and debates. The course culminates in a position essay that contributes to an academic discussion of a topic. As the subject of its reading, writing, and research, EN 102 focuses on the issues and concerns growing out of the text of a visiting author as well as issues in writing studies.
